modular CNC machine / 3doodler 3dPrinter

I just received my 3doodler from the kickstarter my wife paid for last year, and my wife thinks drawing in air is fun, and since shes an artist, i guess it is, for her, but i want more.

I want to build a CNC table that can accommodate a router or the 3doodler (or eventually a real extruder) or any other tool i decide to frankenstein to it.

my research led me to only one real hybrid CNC/3DPdesign linked below but i am reaching out to familab for advice. basically my main goal will be building parts for my quadcopter initially, i would like to be able to cut fiber board as well as print reinforced arms when i break one or redesign my bird.

any advice is good advice, please.

"Good engineers keep thick authoritative books on their shelf. Not for their own reference, but to throw at people who ask stupid questions. Hoping a small fragment of knowledge will osmotically transfer with each cranial impact." - eeguru

If it runs on electricity, i have it :)
