Need Help making a part
« on: September 08, 2013, 10:55:14 PM »
Guys/Gals,

I need some help with a project. I need to make a couple gears to fit into the end of some aluminum tubes that are going to be rollers and one to go on a motor. I have no experience working with the 3D printers nor do I have the gears designed either.
If someone is going to be at the shop that would be willing to help me make some gears some time this week please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it

I'm here all day/night today, can you make it down? I'll also be here Thursday night, I believe.

Do we have any lab owned spools that I can use or can I give someone some money to help cover the cost of what I use?

Oh, and do I need to bring a laptop or is there a computer on that workbench for the 3D printers?

The lab has spools of PLA that you can use, and there are computers that you can use with the printers, although its always a good idea to bring your laptop to the lab. If you want to throw some cash to the costs of printing, you can send a few bucks through paypal to us, but fill in the comments area with "3D Printing Material Funds" or something like that. This way it gets sorted to that, instead of general funds.

Ok, so I have the roller tube drive shaft built in tinkercad but I'm having a hard time seeing how this is going to be able to be printed. I think I remember someone saying something about a 45 degree rule?
