Printrbot LC plans on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23602
Should make for some easy builds for anyone who's interested. I think the drawing may need to be broken down in order to fit on our laser cutter but none of the individual parts are outside our max cutting size.

I just bought a huge thing of wood, I'm not sure if it's the right thickness though, it's 5.2mm thick.  Maybe we can give out the laser cut pieces as a prize or something.

We really need to get rocking on the lasersaur.. that would help put a lot with cutting bigger things like this.

Anyone who has a program that can read DXF, could you visit that thingiverse page and convert the DXF to SVG?

Here ya go:http://www.mr2-power.com/Printrbot-LC-Unique-Release.svg
Normally inkscape can import DXF files and save them as SVG but for some reason it has an issue reading this particular file.

Lets all show some love to Florida Motion Control at Orlando Mini Maker Faire - they are the local 80/20 dealer (need lots of it for the lasersaur)  AND they sponsored OMMF :)

I think as far as Lasersaur goes, we might be able to find some of our materials here:  http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11653

lookie lookie: http://www.thingiverse.com/image:73579

The guy had some issues with sag in the middle, but eventually it was solved by replacing those bearing blocks with 270 degree bearing blocks, and then adding an adjustment brace every so often down the smooth rod.  The 270 degree blocks leave an opening on the bottom of the bearing so that it doesn't interfere with the brace.

With the big CNC we're getting this week, perhaps we can cut out some thicker stuff with an endmill?
