Object-following
« on: July 09, 2013, 02:15:47 PM »
Has anyone ever built a circuit that would follow an object, like say a face, at about five feet, and keep itself pointed towards it all the time?

Sent from my phone. I love living in the future.

No, but it sounds plenty doable with a webcam and some python libraries. Ask Pat Starace, Dan Lewis, or if you want to, I'll swing through and we can do some major googling :D

Haven't done it with a circuit. I did have success using the 'OpenCV' library.

http://opencv.org/

It works on Win/OSX/Linux/iOS/Android. Might work with RaspberryPi + Camera :-)

Hope that helps,
