Electric Motorcycle to Go Kart
« on: February 05, 2014, 05:18:26 PM »
Hey nice to meet you all on Tuesday.

Well anyways I have a electric motorcycle sitting in the garage that I've wanted to convert to electric go kart. Engine & controller are still viable. Lithium batteries I'm pretty sure are gone.

I'll post a link to the powerpoint of when it was converted.

The lithium packs MIGHT be restorable to an extent, depending on several factors. Usually E-Bikes are lithium phospate, which with some babying can be coaxed into taking something of a charge again, or at the least, the blocks of cells can be broken up into individual cells to root out the bad ones. Generally high Amp-hour packs are a series of 3.3V cells bound together to get the desirable voltage(usually 48-72V), and if you know what you're doing, you can find the dead cell and replace it.

Beyond that tidbit, the motor and controller would make for one HELL of a go-kart.
