Cell culture videos
« on: August 30, 2015, 08:02:47 PM »
I don't know if this would be of interest to anyone. These are videos I ran into about cell culture (somehow --I don't know how-- I seem to have been added to a Gibco mailing list). I thought they could be of interest to someone who might be curious about about cell culture.

I did take a class once so most of the stuff in the videos looks very familiar to me. The specific techniques discussed are mostly relevant to mammalian cell culture (possibly to other types of animal cell culture --but I have not learned much about those) but the general procedures would be applicable to any cell culture techniques requiring aseptic technique beyond good bench top practices (so if you were working with cell and tissue culture it might look similar to this). By good bench top practices I mean the sort of good practices to prevent contamination when handling something like E. coli (one still needs to be careful and clean but one generally does not work under a hood).

The page is promoting a free online course but I can't comment on that, beyond noting that there's no substitute for hands on experience, because I have not taken the course (it looks a more extensive than watching 4 videos, though).
