I'm originally from the central florida area.. Lived in San Francisco, CA and have been heavily involved with the Burning Man Art community for the last 5 years out there. Here is a site I founded out there.. http://www.RedlightSF.com

I love to create and work with microcontrollers, namely Arduino right now but would love to start playing with the Raspberry PI. This year I plan to create and bring some interactive Art to the Burn and would love to help out the local familab community in Orlando and join the hackerspace.

So.. how are you guys?!

Welcome to the forums :)

We have a few ex-San Fran people and a few burners...

Check out Christine's work - she's from the Bay Area, living in Orlando now, and has exhibited at Burning Man a few times, and IIRC was a member of the Flaming Lotus Girls... http://www.christinebetow.com/

Here's a pic of her work Propolis at Orlando Mini Maker Faire 2012 - http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t420/niftyba/NiftyBabyEye-Fi/2012%20Orlando%20Mini%20Maker%20Faire/IMG_1631.jpg

If you are available, our next Open House is Jan 8th at 8pm...

The sponsorship is a formality to get you to interact with others before starting to pay. It helps make sure that you know what to expect (given your background, I'm sure you know the chaos involved), and gives us chance to interact with you before handing over a key :)

Keep interacting on the forums, and come to the Open House next Tuesday - that should cover any sponsorship needs, and then you can be voted in at the next member meeting which is on the 15th this month (3rd thurs) if I have my calendar correct...

Welcome back to CFL. I too did that journey from CFL to SF back in the dot com days then 5 in NYC (Hoboken) and then 4 in a 5th wheel RV all over the USA. Finally making it back here late 2008. I'm currently in north Virginia for the holidays. I'll be back at the lab been week. I'd love to hear more about burn as a couple of us are planning our 1st burn trip. Also all things SF.

I've been programming rgb leds as well. Have you seen Texas Instrument pwm LED controllers? If not check out the tlc5940 and sister chips. They have some slick products.
