I think we may want to use our mission statement as the description-
FamiLAB?s mission is to be a community that fosters learning and creativity through hands-on projects, collaboration, and the sharing of skills & tools to improve ourselves and enrich the world around us.
For the research kit -
We will probably want to ask everyone who contributed what size they want for the shirt.
And for the boards I would assume we want 2 of the 8-bit boards, 2 of the 32-bit boards, and 1 daisy chain module.
I'll quickly summarize that choice; the 8-bit boards use the arduino bootloader and can be programmed with Arduino code in the Arduino development environment. The 32-bit boards can be daisy chained and provides faster data rates at higher channel counts. The 32-bit board uses the ChipKIT development environment.
This will allow us to have the most general tools to do any type of research we wish. Those that want to try out the boards with a simple way to prototype can use the 8-bit boards and those who wish to do more technical work with multiple, more powerful, boards will have 2 to daisy chain.
As for the month we want to attend the research partner conference I would suggest late August - September. Defcon is in early August, I don't know how many members will have that conflict but its worth noting.
These are my suggestions, so any other input would be awesome.
