Recommendations for storage-facility near FamiLab?
« on: July 10, 2013, 02:26:24 PM »
Hi there.

I was wondering if anyone here might know of, and could recommend a good storage place near FamiLab? I'm needing a place to put project car I'm about to start to work on, and since I can see some going back-and-forth between the places during the project, the closer the storage is to FamiLab, the better.

Thanks!

Unfortunately most storage facilities specifically prohibit working on automobiles due to insurance reasons. Even the storage facility on the other side of Longwood that used to house FamiLAB had such a policy, I believe. That being said, I've seen it happen at a number of places so you may get away with it if it looks like you're just storing the car there and work on it out of sight of management, but I would not encourage such a thing :)

Fair enough. Actually, the main reason I asked, is that I am buying this car from a friend this weekend, and I need to quickly find a place to "stash it" until I can come up with a way to tell my wife about it.  :-X ;D  Any work on it, would at most be something like installing a stereo, or perhaps doing a little cosmetic dashboard customizing-- Nothing messy; I was planning on doing that sort of stuff at home in my own garage once my wife knew about it.

That said, any near-by places you, or anyone else might recommend before I just hit the Yellow Pages?
