So one hope with the forum is that we can replace the familab-discuss board while adding more specific forums for the subgroups we have (biohacking, micros, etc.). The familab-discuss mailing list was always viewable by the public (see archives here:
http://familab.org/pipermail/familab-discuss_familab.org/
). Hmm, according to past me, we should have both:

Just wondering if there's a way to tie in the mailing list with the forums. Does this software have a plugin for "Quick Reply" - that would be nice too, would cut down on page requests.

Might be at the bottom already as an expandable box, or is in your profile settings under Look and Layout.

Ah, yikes this forum layout just wastes a lot of space and is kind of horribly laid out. I have a feeling JBC will fix that though.
