I smoked for years (quit 5 years ago). Never bother my eyes, but e-cig vapor makes my eyes itch. Not surprised to see that in their report.

More than half of these calls involved children age 5 and younger, and about 42 percent involved people age 20 and older who were poisoned by ingesting liquid nicotine, or absorbing it through the skin, according to the study.
Liquid nicotine is sold to refill e-cigarettes, the battery-powered devices that deliver nicotine, flavorings and other chemicals through a vaporizer. The nicotine is typically contained in a cartridge that users insert into the e-cigarette.
Due to high concentrations of nicotine, a small amount of the liquid can be deadly, especially for children, medical experts say.

I don't vape, so I don't have skin in the game, but the issue seems to be with the liquid concentrate, not so much with the gas. I don't like when people read a negative headline, believe they are experts, and say things like "I read somewhere that it's bad." Not that I'm accusing you of such, but future people seeing this thread may believe that.

Long story short, this article says nothing about the harmful effects of the smoke, only the concentrated liquid. That being said, some people have legitimate reactions to the smoke, and I'm not a believer that it's completely benign. This study doesn't prove any harmful effects of the smoke. You should be very careful with the liquid, though.

I had no idea that the liquid was dangerous in any manner what so ever.

The liquid is indeed dangerous, and should be kept out of the hands of children, just like alcohol, Drano, ammonia, bleach, muriatic acid, and a whole host of other dangerous chemicals commonly found in the home.
