Water Usage is High
« on: July 07, 2014, 05:10:07 PM »
I just read the water meters today and Familab used 7.5 times as much water last month as the month before.  Please make sure the toilet is not left running.

I think we need to install a new flapper.

The toilet is still leaking. I thought it was the flapper too, but if it's been replaced already then the flapper wasn't the issue right?

I agree the float mechanism is malfunctioning. A few weeks back, I came to the lab on a late morning and found the toilet water in a state of flow.  The mechanism was stuck on, I would assume, most of the night.

Has this module been installed? If not, where is it?

Three or four repairs have been attempted, but I have no idea if the latest has finally fixed the darn thing.

Last week I caught the toilet running continuous once again.  This time, a close inspection revealed the flush handle lever was "hanging up" thus preventing the flapper from closing all the way.  Loosening the handle a tad bit seemed to correct the problem.   But, still, keep an eye on it!  -Jim
