we are opening a facility and Lab in longwood
« on: January 18, 2014, 08:48:17 AM »
our company is moving and expanding to Longwood - we specialize in capital machinery for the production of circuit boards(electronics) and micro electronics, also any type of stress or environmental testing.

we are going to have a fully automated Surface mount line, conformal coating line, as well as vibe and climatic testers, wire and die bonding, wafer saws and other robotic equipment available by appointment . we are also looking into adding a waterject and a cnc to our operation shortly after opening.  We have helped other start ups get off the ground previously - if your idea seems viable to us we may choose to bankroll it.

We are reaching out to any small entrepreneurs who have a design but not necessarily the equipment to launch it into production, and chances are you won't get any attention from a contract mfg without a large up front payment.  we take away all the bloated overhead, you do most of the work, on our machines.  plus learn in the process.

we know how expensive it is to start up which means they normally end up buying old junk that is not supported and ends up failing.

in addition we are always looking for part time help once we wrap up the move into our new 34K sqft facility - someone with web and SEO background, electrical troubleshooting, programming a plus etc.  this is probably 4-6 weeks out.  our pay is competitive based on skill anywhere from 15-23$/hr.  Every person i have hired thus far has become a full time employee within a few months, we will train all you have to have is the aptitude and willingness to learn.

Interested in feedback to see if this even a viable thought process I am having. Are we addressing a need?

In addition we have tons of automation equipment that we scrap on a weekly basis. they all have motors plcs drives etc maybe stuff you can use. maybe not...

This is fabulous, I'm interested! I have a product that has been previously sold to LYNX, it's a solar powered, computer controlled LED lighting system. I just picked up an investor/partner to help cover the cost of UL testing, so that we can expand the market, which will then require us to make more product in quantity.  We have some other projects in the queue as well, which could use your services.

Please get in touch!

Tom very compelling. we have lots of experience with LED products. We did a lot of work in the early stages with Lighting Science in sat beach, also Philips lumiled, Cree in NC and many others.

we have also fully equipped many facilities to build avionics, i/o controls, etc.

design is not a core competency. figuring out how to build a product in the most cost effective manner is... If your product is planned for regions outside FL and is an exterior product or going on a vehicle itself it will require both climate testing and dynamic (vibe) which we also have in house.  I also forgot to mention we just bought a 3Dsystems 650DPI 3d printer as well.

i will PM you my email address.

you can see on youtube the types of machinery we work with. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpSIOoHrjNhIqxpV-rUXMRw

looking forward to speaking with you.

Sounds good tom - i responded.

we are 4-6 weeks from opening the doors in Longwood as long as the city stays out of our way.

we own another facility near downtown that we are moving from.

Avionics is a very common thing to build still in the USA. we sell to rockwell collins, avidyne, garmin etc.

Seeing the new shell while we chat about product lines could be useful. One of our products is a home/office/factory system which could operate off-grid at lower-cost than conventional. I might be able to provide some observations.

Re-Avionics? You certainly some impressive client lists! We may have one avionics project coming up, certainly not as big. My only other Avionics highlight was when I worked for a small PCB shop in Winter Park years ago? I did the solder masking for a video display driver board for the Space Shuttle Columbia's maiden flight.

We should find ways to work together!  Brooks and I just launched Sunshine Labs in the same warehouse that FamiLAB calls home (other side of the same building), and we are looking to build relationships with other startup-support companies!  As a Startup Incubator and Hardware Co-working Community we look forward to connecting with you and your team!

sounds good - i think we could be a resource for people.

We are looking to expand into other areas outside our core business.

After watching what happened at Nest it opened our eyes that helping people finance, develop, and produce products could be a beneficial service.

Interested in connecting with a few local people to plant the seed of our idea.

We also are looking for someone who has automation experience.  From time to time we need new control systems built for our machinery and software coded and we were farming this out to some folks in Wisconsin but it makes being involved in the project hard.

[/size]I know a business owner in Sanford who can probably help with that. They also do custom cabling and injection molding.

Wow this is all really neat! If you are still looking for part time help I would be interested. I'm pretty good at coding (atmel studio, code composer studio, codewarrior, iar embedded workbench, etc) and hardware (smt, through-hole soldering/desoldering I use a aoyue 968a+ smt rework station GREAT kit for the price) or at least have enough experience to learn a lot more quickly and I'd love to get my hands on some of those amazing machines of yours and learn a bit more about the industry.

And thank you Tom for showing me this post!

We will be looking for help once we move in about a month. We have a lot of open projects i would love to pass along and have someone dig in and come up with creative solutions, and follow through with implementing them. inventory and product tracking, SEO, improving web presence, working on and fixing machines, helping operate a small lab and showing people how to use the machines. pretty much everyone that works here has to wear a lot of hats which keeps things interesting.

We also have a desire to start doing board repair on our servo drives and also laser heads etc, right now we are sending to china and paying 500-1000$ per board for repair. most of it is very simple to diagnose with instruments and the right tools.

We have quite a bit of experience with rework. We had a customer who got over their head with a project for Cisco and needed 5000 boards reworked in a very short period. we set up 3 x airvac onyx machines running 24 hrs a day for 5 days to help them complete the job.
