Looking for C/C++ developer

Job description follows.  My employer is hiring a C++ developer.  Fair warning: pay is good but we have a lot of turnover.  They may make exceptions (heh) for lack of C++ knowledge depending on knowledge of other languages.





Software Engineer II
Department: Development
Reports To: Manager of Software Development
FLSA Status: Exempt


Summary Intermediate level C/C++ programming position, implements new code or code modifications, participates in design/implementation discussions and performs unit level testing under the guidance of a Senior Software Engineer and/or Project Lead.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned)


  • Generate C/C++ code conforming to the design specification provided for new project development
  • Modify existing  C/C++ source according to direction in order to realize change requests, R&D and/or bug fixes
  • Locate and correct identified program errors
  • Execute rigorous unit tests on new code and code changes in accordance with specified test plans
  • Clearly and concisely document code additions, code changes, test procedures & results and all other work performed

  • Competent in writing and interpreting C/C++ syntax, constructs and paradigms; Capable of translating flow charts, activity diagrams, state charts and other design specifications into C/C++ code and visa versa. Capable of reading legacy C/C++ code, determining logic & intent and identifying & correcting logic errors.
  • Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail; Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Follows directions; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics; Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles; Takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities


Qualifications
  • Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of two years relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Is that a bug on the forums?  Only happens when I cut and paste =/
