SHT1x Sensors and Libraries
« on: October 23, 2013, 11:04:43 AM »
Just a quick post in case anyone ever comes across these -

The SHT1x based sensors (obtainable from adafruit, among other places) are really neat integrated temperature/humidity sensor units. However, I found the stock library from Practical Arduino to have some challenges. (https://github.com/practicalarduino/SHT1x) I kept getting -40 readings (which means there is no coms with the sensor) and even when I would get near the wire, or touch the casing, it would go from reading fine to error-ing out - not good.

After some forum searching, I found this library which works MUCH better, but compiles a little larger, and is not quite as "fast" as the practical arduino library. https://github.com/biogeo/sht1xalt/

I'm going to dig a bit into the original library and see if I can find the original issue. Any additional help is always appreciated, but figured i'd drop this tidbit while it was fresh.
