Looking for Diesel or Kerosene
« on: May 07, 2012, 09:52:38 PM »
We are starting to do some milling of aluminum.  The best cutting fluid for that is Diesel or Kerosene.  If anyone has a small quantity of this (a cup) it would make our machining run smoother, quieter, quicker.  If you have some you can donate please say so here and deliver it to the machining table in a labled container.  Ultimately, we need to put it in an oiling can.

I've got some kerosene here @ the house.  I'll drop it off @ the lab next time I'm around.

Would an order to McMaster for some specialized cutting fluid be safer/more efficient? We can always add it to whomever places the next order. Its not that much, and I have ordered various types, high and low viscosity types.
