Photo walk-arounds
« on: May 09, 2012, 07:22:52 PM »
Would any one be interested in getting together in small groups every so often to wander about interesting places in the greater Orlando area? John gave me the idea one day and it seems fun. I have been thinking of ways to encourage more of us to get together and talk about photography and this seems like a perfect way to go about it.

What goes into a 'photo walk around'? Do you pick a place of interest, and take photos of scenes in the area?

Basically. The old "lock yourself in a room and photograph" thing really holds true.. There's amazing things everywhere to take pictures of, it's all about getting the right perspective.
I used to do this a lot.. I'd drive out to somewhere, and start strolling around, taking pictures.. Once you get in the mood, you see things you won't normally.

ideas: I'd like to see what's left of that ancient tree in Longwood. Also Legoland.

Added: if people want to take photos of the ocean/beach I could show them around Cocoa Beach.

I posted looking for interest and then forgot about the post entirely, sorry.  I am available most weekends so Saturday would be good for me. Is there a place in mind? Big Tree park was suggested but that is still locked down at the moment, I am sure that you could gain access but I will not encourage any one to do something illegal on the forums.

I know of a few good nature trails and parks around Sanford and Lake Mary and out towards Osteen some with in 10 min of the lab. We should get a list of locations from all over our areas that might be interesting to photograph. It would be cool to have a good mix to choose from so we don't end up taking pictures of trees all the time.

Nature trails are awesome. I've gotten some really good stuff just wandering around the trails.

So saturday sounds good...
