General Science / Re: Vacuum Forming Plastics
« on: May 18, 2016, 10:42:13 PM »
Okay, all the mechanicals are in place and working on the vacuform table. Now there are a few things left

- The pedastal that the parts stand on, which is mostly done, just need to make standoffs

- The electrical wiring, which a quick trip to Home Depot should take care of.

- And purchasing a vacuum pump.  Might need some help with this bit $150.

Crowdfunding / Re: 3DPrinting Upgrades Crowdfunding!

I don't see it as a problem as long as its only included as a stretch goal. If people don't want to donate beyond that point they don't have to, otherwise the option is there.

As a side note I purchase the last two rolls for the lulzbot and didn't have a single jam until we started using the spare rolls.

Hi Gio, sorry for the delayed response. We have been insanely busy at Maker Faire. We have open houses the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm. If that's too long to wait :) stop in this Tuesday around 7 and I will give you a tour.

Victor, welcome to the Lab. Can you post your maker faire project link (if you have it finished your profile)?

Welcome Circuit. We have a very active 3d printing community and you are welcome up anytime. Our mill is currently in the move process but once in we should have a class or work session.

I'm looking to run this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukAbi08XwAk
on a 19 high 5 wide neopixel project  using the sample here
https://github.com/fuse314/arduino-particle-sys/blob/master/examples/GreenFireFastLED/GreenFireFastLED.ino

any ideas why I would get this error?

GreenFireFastLED.ino: In function 'void setup()':
GreenFireFastLED:62: error: request for member 'setCorrection' in '(& FastLED)->CFastLED::addLeds<(EClocklessChipsets)5u, 6u, (EOrder)66u>(((const CRGB*)(& leds)), 95, 0)', which is of pointer type 'CLEDController*' (maybe you meant to use '->' ?)
GreenFireFastLED:62: error: 'TypicalLEDStrip' was not declared in this scope
request for member 'setCorrection' in '(& FastLED)->CFastLED::addLeds<(EClocklessChipsets)5u, 6u, (EOrder)66u>(((const CRGB*)(& leds)), 95, 0)', which is of pointer type 'CLEDController*' (maybe you meant to use '->' ?)

I saw the conversation in hangouts about expanding the size of the cnc, but that was quite a bit of scroll back so I thought I would add this to the forums. With the increased size/weight it might be a good idea to use hardened rails.

Chris, if we rebuilt the structure for the y axis (which is cracked) could we get a little more Z range or are we maxed out on z currently?

No. I've reset the apn as well with no luck. On the last flash I did it all manually, as the normal process usually fails on the system.img and two of the other img files.

All loaded correctly when I did it manually.
