Automotive / Engine rebuild/repair
« on: April 23, 2017, 11:11:10 AM »
Hello I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who is adept in V8 engine repair or maybe even a complete rebuild. I have a 03 Land Rover Discovery 2 that has a pretty loud engine knock. I used my stethoscope to figure out that the sound is coming from the bottom of the engine somewhere. I think it may have something to do with the lifters or possibly even a broken rocker shaft. I can do regular maintenance on the thing but for something like this I need to enlist some expert help. If anyone is interested in this project any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me directly at 386-588-0800.

Hello all my name is Matthew Desormeaux. You can just call me Matt if that suits you. I am a Luthier (stringed instrument maker/repairman) I attended Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in 2010 and worked for Guitar Center in Winter Park Fl from 2012-2016 and Ranked in the top 10 nationwide for GC. While I was there I apprenticed part time with Master Luthier Harold Hernandez learning how to build smaller acoustic style and spanish style instruments. I left Gc and started working for Lyrical Lumber in Maitland Fl about a year ago. I have learned so much about finish work and over all guitar building and repair this passed year, however due to high overhead and un-motivated management I have found myself with the prospect of becoming fully self employed from my shop at home. I am extremely proficient with electronic repairs, structural repairs, setups maintenance, and finishing. I have a lot of customers interested in having me build them custom guitars and I am extremely excited at the opportunity of learning and using cnc equipment to accommodate my clients in a timely manner.
