FamiGrill
« on: March 05, 2014, 03:51:34 AM »
As requested this will be the home for my build of the grill.

It is late so i am just going to put down some info and i will organize it later

Project: FamiGrill
To make a grill that has the ability to monitor the temp and adjust the fire inside to keep the cooking stable and even.
Goals:
independent control of 2 fans, grill side and smoker side
simple menu style interface, for anyone to use
   manual control
temperature regulation via fan control, vary the speed of the fan to keep temp the same inside
build nice mount and package for refitting other grills.

Collaborators:
Shane - main idea, programming
Mike - chef extraordinaire, input on making it cook better. (it is all well and good to just add electronics to something but it has to make it better too)
Mike - programming wiz
Jd - hardware, manufacturing

I built something similar to this years ago using the Arduino and a wifi shield.  I may still have some code (e.g. the PID algorithm I used and the web-based UI) floating around somewhere...
