I was actually going to convert a 1986 Pontiac Fiero to a kit car back when I still owned it.  I miss that little car. :(

I'm hoping to eventually pick one up again, strip the body off of it, throw a V8 in the sucker, and maybe try the russian-way of using polyurethane to create concept-car bodies and make a unique car that's not quite a kit, but is no less unique :)

ThantiK, it would be easier if you replaced the 3.4L motor, with one of the new 3.6L motors from the new camaros, 300+HP, and it'll fit easier. :) Plus, less weight, and the whole balance on the car would be more as it was.

I was also thinking about maybe a 3800 v6, they have supercharged versions.

The Northstar V8 was the hot engine to stuff in Fieros for a long time.  Is the 3800 a cast iron block?  The amusing thing is that an aluminum block V8 was lighter than most of other engine options.

The new 3.6L that is in the new camaros, and my car, is a DOHC aluminum block with Iron sleves. the one in the camaro has different heads and a better program. 306HP NA I believe. In fact, it might drop right on the stock mounts.
