I'm Luna! I'm super excited to meet you guys tonight at the open house. I was looking at different sorts of collaborative workspaces in the area and, looking at the sort of things you guys offer in your space, was completely blown away. To think, I've only lived five minutes away for the past two years!
My love for wibbly-wobbly, sciencey-wiency stuff can be blamed on my grandmother, who has worked at a hands-on children's science museum for almost twenty years. I spent the majority of my childhood there, doing classes and making things, and eventually becoming a teen volunteer for their community outreach program. It was a very rewarding experience and I'd love to continue doing things and share my love of learning with others.
I'm currently more of a software person. I currently have an internship at a local tech company doing programming, but I'm looking to branch out more into the physical realm of electronics... it's something I've been interested in for quite some time, but never knew where to start. I also do a lot of 'creative activities'. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, chainmail, staying up all night at SCA bardic circles, digital 3d modelling, playing guitar/piano/flute, pretty much everything and anything I can get my hands on. I pride myself on my sheer number of practically useless talents.
My current projects I have in mind range from the implementation fiber optics in costuming for Dragon*Con this year to setting up an honest-to-goodness forge with my fianc? in our backyard. I'm bad at this whole introduction thing, so... yeah. Nice to meet you!
