Hi, my name is Ryan. I stopped by the open house with my kids on Tuesday. It was a great time. Thanks for showing us around and showing off the cool stuff you're working on. My son and daughter are excited to go to the Maker Faire and take the soldering class.
I can't focus on what I'd like to be able to create there, there are so many projects I've had in my head, and access to the cool tools there just expands that list.
In the past couple of years, I've mainly been working on cosplay for my son and I. I've built him armor out of cardstock, foam, lots of glue, velcro etc. I've tried my hand at pepakura armor, but I've never made it past a paper model.
This year, I'm making my son a Bane costume, and I was going to run green EL wire through some clear tubing to get a venom effect, but after talking with (the guy who's running the battle robots) and seeing the killer hexadome project, I think I'll try neopixels and an arduino controller.
