Hi I'm Jo
« on: February 03, 2016, 01:22:42 PM »
Hello all! My name's Jo and I was at the open house last night. It was really cool to see what everyone is doing and I'm interested to learn more about the types of projects and the availability of machines and resources at FamiLAB.

So a little about me: I'm a graduate student finishing my thesis on an autonomous lunar mining robot. I do a lot of programming and in my free time cosplay. I'm interested in e-textiles and have several lilypad arduinos as well as several unos just lying around for use in projects. My current project is a ball gown for the fantasy masquerade in Tampa with an accelerometer and a bunch of LEDs that change colors depending on my movements. I'm also interested in prop making and would love to use the space to learn more/work on props.

I'm also interested in the possibility of teaching classes for FamiLAB. As a roboticist, I'm very familiar with sensors and instrumentation, especially ones that are connectable to arduino. I'd also like to share my love of e-textiles if anyone were interested in learning more.

That's all I have to say about me. It's nice to meet you all and I look forward to learning more!

Welcome! We'd love to have you teach any of that that you're willing to - sensors/instrumentation, robotics, e-textiles, any of it. Feel free to keep coming out to be at the space with us; we look forward to having you!
