Interested in DIY-Bio/Raspberry Pi
« on: March 18, 2016, 05:04:49 PM »
Hello! My name is Anna, I'm a current ninth grade student at Winter Park High. I'm somewhat obsessed with biology and computer programming, and I'm really excited that there's a maker space in my area! I'm currently filling out the membership paper work, and I'm planning on attending a Raspberry Pi or Linux class soon. I would love to participate in the DIYBio group, but I'm not certain if minors would be allowed near the lab equipment? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Anna, you will need to have a parent or guardian with you while you are at the lab. Also you can't join until you are 18, but your parent can.

Have you been out to one of our raspberry pi workshops? or a diy bio weekend?

Okay, sounds good.
Not yet, But I was planning on attending the Linux class on the calendar for Thursday. Is there any sign up necessary?

We will be culturing some panellus stipticus during tomorrow's diybio workgroup from 3pm to 5pm, rsvp not strictly necessary, but if I know how many folks will be showing up, I can try to make sure we have enough media to go around.
