Intro: Melissa Kuchma
« on: June 18, 2014, 03:07:07 PM »
Hi,

I have known about FamiLAB ever since I met Ian Cole a few years back and have wanted to join. Once my son, Ethan, expressed interest in joining, I knew that it was time. Ethan and I have attended a few events and classes recently, and we have enjoyed meeting everyone.

A little about myself and family:
We live in Winter Park. Both my husband, Karl, and I grew up in Florida. After going to school in Massachusetts and living in the D.C. area, we decided to move back to Florida. We have one son and one daughter, whom I hope to get involved at FamiLAB as well.

I am a chemist (as is Karl), and I have worked in the fields of inorganic chemistry, nanoscience and molecular biology. My current project is a startup company; I am one of the founders of Revolution Medicine, which matches people to the medications that are best for them. We provide an individual analysis based on DNA and other clinical factors, and we score the information using algorithms that we designed in order to provide clinical relevance to our analysis results.

We look forward to joining FamiLAB, learning from the members, and contributing to the community.

Melissa
