Jackie's Intro
« on: December 22, 2016, 11:30:51 PM »
Perhaps a Thursday night after two beers is not the ideal time to write my intro which will be preserved for the ages, but...  Seriously, I just gave my verbal intro at the last meeting.  I have lived in Texas (mostly), Arkansas and Indiana before getting to Florida.  I have (professionally) done computer work (hardware, software, networking, all out of date), banking & accounting, have a BA in Communications (yea liberal arts rescuing the tech dropouts), and half of an MBA.  I have run three businesses, a meadery, a bakery and a soap company (not Paper Street style).  I helped restore a 100 year old house.  I once made myself a ball gown from scratch and wore it to a costume ball.  I will be very very quiet around you until I am comfortable with you, and after that you have to remind me to shut up.  I will be happy to help you with any project, although you may have to teach me how to do the thing.  I have a surface level of knowledge about many things, which is just enough to be dangerous, and to convince me I don't know anything about any given subject.  I want to know about everything, and I am working right now on learning Arduino, remembering basic calligraphy, and 3D printing/design.

And you're the super duper volunteer of awesomeness! You guys helped unload after maker faire and you didn't even know us! :)

Also, yay calligraphy! We have a pen/penmanship channel on slack and a whole bunch of us are either pen or writing dorks.
