Looking to become a member!
« on: October 22, 2013, 10:13:11 AM »
Good morning everybody!

Where to start, where to start! I like long, moonlit walks on the beach and.... wait, probably the wrong approach. :)

I moved to Central Florida almost a decade ago to attend Rollins College and then got my MBA soon after. I got my Bachelors in Studio Art with concentrations in sculpture and photography. I chose Entrepreneurship and Management as my MBA concentrations. My head is constantly full of ideas, I enjoy problem solved/collaborating, and am always looking to learn new things.

I have always been an avid builder... from the second my mother got me legos to the DIY projects l like to mess around with now. My passion is creating ways to get cameras into the air. In that pursuit I have put together a number of homemade RC CableCams and multirotors. The problem is that my prototyping needs are outgrowing my resources and more importantly, I would really like to broaden my knowledge base.... then I finally stumbled on your group and it sounds like we might be a perfect fit!

Specifically I want to learn more about programming, 3d printing (always fascinated me!) and learn how to operate CNC machines. My strengths lie in project collaboration, generating ideas and creative alternatives to problems, and I have extensive multirotor and RC experience. I have worked for GoPro, ESPN2, and the Discovery channel as a camera man and have been a beta tester for DJI (biggest multirotor company on the planet).

I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet many of you in the coming months and become a contributing member of your group!

Looking forward to hearing back
Tom

Woo! Another prospect that's into multirotors!

I think I'm in the right place.

Thanks for the warm welcome! As a DIYer of course I didn't read the instructions first! :)

I'll have a look through and start my application.

I appreciate it! It started off as a passion and has been snowballing quickly! It's been amazing to get such a positive response to my work, thank you!
