Hello fellow makers, My name is Doug and 7 years ago I broke my neck in a dirt bike accident that left me a C-5 quadriplegic. I found out very quickly this world is not built for Quads so I live to hack and mod the world around me to improve my independence and the independence of others. With the help of my friends I built a RC lawn mower to cut my grass, a sip-n-puff trackball mouse for the PC, and a quad friendly RC transmitter for 2 channel cars/trucks. I have years of brushless RC truck exp, I also use to install car audio, air ride susspension and do custom body fabrication. I recently learned Eagle cad and developed my first circuit boards through Oshpark for a quad friendly PS3-4 controller I'm working on.
I 'm looking to meet fellow hackers and learn as much as possible, while sharing what I have learned over the years. I like to do as much work as I can, so I really want to get into 3d cad design and 3d printing along with learning how to run a cnc table. I can learn anything just by being around it and seeing it done so if anyone is interested in showing me the ropes let me know. I have attended the casting class, and went to the recent maker fair and met some great familab members and hope to meet more soon.
There is far more to me then this post and I hope to meet some really cool people and build awsome projects in the future.
