My name is Andrew, and I was brought to FamiLAB on Tuesday by Steven. This place completely blew my mind away, and I was rendered utterly speechless by all the things that I have got to see.
Currently, I am going to school at DeVry for Electrical Engineering. I do small electronic things around the house and mess around with my Arduino, but I think that being a part of this lab would expand my knowledge ten fold. I have always been fascinated by how electronics work, and my programming skills are lacking enough that I think coming here and being around some of the best people would help me find more strengths in my chosen field.
I just got out of the Army after serving 7 years, and while in there I worked on the mechanical and electrical aspects of the AH-64D Apache Longbow. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the aircraft and learning how things work together to create motion. For a while me and my buddies were working together to put together a car garage called "Midnight Auto," and there I was in charge of redoing all the electrical aspects of the cars we worked on. From headlights to complete electrical rewiring. However, all of us disbanded to go back to school and get degrees in certain fields to make our shop one of the best out there, with nothing you've seen before.
For those of you that were there Tuesday, I was the short guy working on the synthesizer with Nate.
