The Life of Brian (introduction)
« on: June 16, 2017, 11:30:04 AM »
Greetings!

My name is Brian Paul (@species8472) and I love Star Trek! I've already met a number of you at the open house, Machine Shop night and RC Sunday, but am looking forward to meeting more makers. What I do on weekdays: I work in I.T. at the Orlando City Soccer Club, and do everything from Excel reporting to Salesforce administration and some help-desk support.
What I do the rest of the time: I spend time with my family, tinker, play with remote controlled things, and consume information about things I'll probably never fully grasp.
Some of my favorite things: Taking things apart, making things, putting things back together (in that order). The Next Generation, Voyager, Frasier. General tinkering.
Some things I want to make/do/study: An amphibious, long-range RC robot; simple subatomic particle viewer; large home inventory storage/management (to organize my insane amount of parts); wireless power; induction heating; etc.

FamiLAB feels like the perfect environment for me, and I'm thinking that having such an outlet might help curb my collection of tools and gadgetry. Probably not, but at least I'll have a place to keep/donate things, space permitting. I really like everyone I've met so far, as you all have such different interests, experiences and perspectives that make for stimulating conversation and great ideas! I can't wait to be a part of the fun, more so than I already have been.

Thank you all for being so awesome, friendly, accepting and knowledgeable!

ROFL, good luck. :) My collection has doubled or better since I joined lab.

Welcome!

Eeek! So it's an inlet... Duly noted.

I shouldn't kid myself, though. I'm pretty much out of space, but still excited by the idea of my collection potentially doubling!

And thanks :)
