P.C. Board design?
« on: June 27, 2012, 08:29:35 PM »
All,

How about a circuit board design class?  Then make a p.c. board and build a project?

  What software?

    Eagle: ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/program/6.2/eagle-win-6.2.0.exe
    KiCad: http://kicad.sourceforge.net

regards,

David

We've been trying to get one set up for awhile, but we need an instructor. I think duplikit and lensman would be the two people that could maybe teach. I'd stick to Eagle CAD for now, as that's what Adafruit and Sparkfun use. KiCad is cool, and FOSS, but its a bit harder to get support and parts libraries for. I definitely want to take this class. :)

As a follow up, I'm trying to get something set up to demo how to mill your designs out on the Zen. I've been getting things tuned in with EMC2 and playing with PyCAM to generate G-code, so hopefully soon we'll have something that can be used!

Sign me up! I was planning on doing some boards. Some training insights are always useful.

Got Fritzing's output to work with Cut 2D. Should be able to mill things on the Zen.
