Stepper Motor Class
« on: April 22, 2015, 08:07:39 AM »
HI All,

I would like to put an "Introduction to Stepper Motors" class together.

I'm thinking it would have the following characteristics..

A -- 2 hours long
B -- lecture with demonstrations
C -- Hands on during class, plenty of Q and A -- no individual projects however
D -- Open to the public
E -- Free of charge

It would cover things like
A -- What are some types of motors and why do you want to use a stepper motor
B -- Feedback -- lack there of
C -- Classifications / sizes
D -- Where to buy them
E -- How to drive them directly from a micro controller using power transistors
F -- How to drive them with a stepper motor board

Any interest -- comments?

Feel free to grab the relevant stuff out of Arduino 102, if it will help!  People always have problems with sizing -- you might want to say a bit about that.

They were in the FamiLAB dropbox, IIRC.

Relaying the same sentiment the others have. This would be an awesome addition to the FamiLAB class schedule. :)
