RSS Feeds --to-> Printables tool?
« on: May 04, 2012, 02:13:26 AM »

Has anyone found any good software or website for taking one or more RSS feeds and producing a good magazine-like printable from it?

There are a lot of great feeds out there that I don't read, and maybe if it were something I grabbed on my way into the lab I'd be more inclined. I'd also like to to get feeds people read and have them available to members and nonmembers in the lobby room. We could pay for actual magazine subscriptions, but I know people would suggest RSS first, and I've always wondered.

http://www.zinepal.com/ is pretty good, it manages to pull images where available, but the content is so small :(. Are there many full-content feeds?

Any GoogleReaders out there wanna share their tricks?

You might be able to cook up something with Calibre. It's an e-book management system but it also has the ability to create ebooks from RSS feeds and sync them with an ereader daily. If the format it produces is print friendly that might be the ticket. The way RSS feeds are pieced together is called a recipe and you can script them in python as well as using the GUI so there may be some extra flexibility there. Here's the documentation for that feature:  http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/news.html
