... but needs monies to get down to Florida, as he was planning on skipping our state entirely.
The man does some fantastic visual coding (check him out at seb.ly
) and rubs elbows with some of the best people I've seen, like Neave and NERVOUS Systems, and he himself knows a thing of two about creating awesome systems.
His april fools joke was a flocking based algorithm in the form of a game of (fake) MMO Asteroids that would eventually turn every player but you into little turrets firing at only you. The nifty thing is, it actually uses Node.JS (the tech he said he made the MMO aspect with) to log user data from the application and is apparently just holding onto it until he makes the game for real.
CreativeJS has some amazing demos online of cool tech and things that are possible in this day-and-age of browser doohickies, and I think getting him out to the space for a talk on what he does would be very beneficial.
That being said, to raise the funds, is the traditional thing to do just start cold-calling tech companies in the area and seeing if they'll fund his gas/airfare down to Orlando? Has anybody at FamiLAB orchestrated funding a person's travel to another city?
If you're a twitter person, he's usually pretty responsive here https://twitter.com/seb_ly
