Thanks! I had help from Daniel Grove who actually lifted out the entire X/Y assembly so I could access the wiring, and he put the assembly back in. Also, Conner put up with the only semi-working dremel we had, when I gave up, as it was frustrating me to all hell.
Long story short, the board is now in place in a metal enclosure that I still need to ground to the frame, and it works. FSL had very poor documentation, but X and Y seem to be working. The laser is horribly out of alignment, but I'll let Pocky fix that one.
